Able to connect via local host but not server

I have a page that connects to SQL server. It works fine when running in local host but when I publish to the server, I get the following:

An error has occurred while establishing a connection to the server. When connecting to SQL Server 2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings SQL Server does not allow remote connections. (provider: Named Pipes Provider, error: 40 - Could not open a connection to SQL Server)

Any ideas on where to start?

Thanks,

Mark

Ability to import Data into SQL Server Express Edition

I am using SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and Server Mangement Studio
Express. I can connect to the server and create databases/tables just fine
but I can't seem to fine a way to import data into the table. The Data
Transformation wizard does not seem to be in the Management studio. Can
anybody give me some help in how to import data into express edition? Thanks,
Using the SQL 2000 version I use bcp (bulk copy) command line tool.
Don't know if the command is included in the 2005 version.

A single computer cannot connect to MSDE

I have an instance of MSDE running that have 3 computers connected to it and
using it no problems. 1 computer cannot connect or even see msde when
enumerating sql servers using sqldmo. This computer can ping the server msde
is on no problem. My thought was to next look at the netlibrary on the
server and on the client and verify both TCP and named pipes setup. Any
further suggestions on how to get this fixed would be appreciated. There is
not a firewall issue.
Thanks
Have you made sure the MDAC on that client is updated?

A problem to connect to sql server 2000

The sql server 2000 is runing at network pc named: pc1;
The ado.net is used to access the server with OLE DB .net
data provider.
The error at the OleDbError is
Message: SQL Server does not exist or access denied
NativeError: 17,
SQLState: 08001
Below is potion of the code (in C#):
OleDbConnection connection = null;
string cnString = @."Provider=SQLOLEDB; Data Source=\\pc1;"
+ "Initial Catalog = BOM; User ID = pyoung;
Password=pyoung";
try
{
connection = OleDbConnection(cnString);
connection.Open();
}
catch
{
for (int i=0; i < myException.Errors.Count; i++)
{
this.mStatusMsg = "Message: " + myException.Errors
[i].Message + "\\n" +
"Native: " + myException.Errors
[i].NativeError.ToString() + "\\n" +
"Source: " + myException.Errors[i].Source + "\\n" +
"SQL: " + myException.Errors[i].SQLState + "\\n";
}
connection.Close();
}
Where BOM is the database to use.
What did I miss to connect to the server correctly?
Thanks.
Pat
Data Source in your string is wrong.
Provider=SQLOLEDB.1;Persist Security Info=False;User ID=useridHere;Data
Source=ServerNameHere
